Switzerland-Canada Student Exchange

Interested in hosting a student (grade 9) from Lausanne, Switzerland for 2-4 weeks in summer 2009? Interested having your teenage son/daughter travel to Switzerland in summer 2010 for 2-4 weeks to practice his/her French language skills and experience Switzerland?

On behalf of an English student of mine who attends an international school here in Lausanne, I am looking for a family who would be interested in hosting a grade 9 (age 15) student for a 2-4 week period. He would like the opportunity to immerse himself in English this coming summer. As part of the agreement, his family is happy to take on this host student the following summer to practice his/her French language skills as well as experience the Suisse Romande and all it has to offer.

Having taken part in a student-exchange when I was a teenager, I only have great things to say about taking part in an exchange like this. If you are an interested parent or teen and/or have any questions regarding taking part in this student exchange, please contact me directly.

House exchange Switzerland-Canada

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) looking to exchange our house on the Sunshine Coast (near Vancouver) for a house in or near Geneva.  We arrive in Switzerland on July 26th and will live there for approximately 6 months.  We would either like to exchange for the whole 6-month period, or exchange for a shorter term at the beginning of our holiday (for instance, just the month of August). 
We would exchange the top floor of our house.  There are 3 bedrooms, a beautiful, bright living-room looking out onto a large garden, a kitchen, bathroom and a large deck.  Downstairs the house has a 1-bedroom suite with tenants, who will stay until October 1st.
The yard is big and very child-friendly, with tree house, zip line, swing, slides, sand box, etc... And many kinds of berries (huckleberries, raspberries, blueberries, gooseberries, etc...)
We are located in Gibsons, a charming fishing town on the Sunshine Coast, a 40 scenic ferry ride from Vancouver.  It is quiet, peaceful and offers the best of British Columbia’s outdoors: mountains, hikes, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, ocean (25 minute walk to a long beach), kayaking, canoeing, etc..
In the summer there are numerous festivals and events.  The bus stops on the corner and shopping is a 10-minute walk away (1 minute drive).
We do not have any pets and would prefer no pets in the house.  Also, we would kindly ask smokers to smoke outside.
